Art: It’s Elementary Workshop
October 11, 2019 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m
During this 4-hour workshop, K-2 and elementary art teachers will learn about a new opportunity for Orange County K-2 students to exhibit artwork at the Stark Museum of Art and explore 3 new lessons suitable for any elementary classroom. All materials are provided, and teachers will be receive supplies to implement the lessons back in their classrooms. Registration for this workshop is free and continental breakfast will be provided. Participating teachers will receive 4 CPE hours.
Studio Art Glass Workshop
January 17, 2020 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Explore the world of glass! During this 6-hour workshop, visual arts teachers are invited to the Stark Museum of Art to learn how they can incorporate glass into their curriculum. We’ll explore the basics of glass, identify resources available for your classroom, and create a variety of fused and painted glass projects. Fused glass projects will be fired in the SMA kiln following the workshop and will be available for pick up February 7, 2020. All materials are provided. Registration for this workshop is free, and lunch will be provided. Participating teachers will receive 6 CPE hours.
March 27, 2020 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Let’s get back to the drawing board! During this 6-hour workshop, visual arts teachers will be joined by guest teaching artists for a day of drawing focused professional development. Teachers will enjoy visiting our special exhibitions The Drawing Experience and Follow the Line: 2020 Juried Student Art Exhibition, as well as opportunities to work with our teaching artists to refine their personal drawing practice as well as instructional strategies for the classroom. Registration for this workshop is free, and includes a sketchbook and drawing kit. Lunch will be provided. Participating teachers will receive 6 CPE hours.
